These files were developed by an international team of designers, engineers, information managers, and construction managers. The original project template was a real building donated to demonstrate COBie data deliverables.

These files provide a simulated  two-story building from design through construction. Data sets were developed for individual design disciplines to model workflows needed for larger projects.

Since initial COBie testing in 2008, it became clear that there needed to be one common set of test files that were not too small to be trivial or too large to be practical for testing. The Dormitory project files provided here are "just right".

The team took the project data and simulated a full design and construction process. As we went along, we published how we did it in books like "Delivering COBie using Revit," and "Lean Handover: COBie for Contractors."
